Interpol Announces New Album 'This Mirror Weighs a Ton,' Releases Two Singles

Interpol has officially announced their latest studio album, titled "This Mirror Weighs a Ton," which is scheduled to drop on August 28. This release marks their debut under the new partnership with Partisan Records. Alongside this exciting news, the band has unveiled two fresh tracks from the album: the eponymous "This Mirror Weighs a Ton" and "See Out Loud." These new offerings provide a glimpse into the band's evolving sound and creative direction, generating anticipation among fans.

A notable aspect of the new material is the track "See Out Loud," which features lead vocals from guitarist Daniel Kessler. This marks his first vocal contribution to an Interpol song since the band's earlier work, specifically "PDA" from their seminal album "Turn on the Bright Lights." The upcoming album was meticulously crafted at Andrew Wyatt's Manhattan studio, with Wyatt also taking on the role of producer. Mixing duties were handled by David Fridmann, ensuring a polished and distinctive sound. Following the album's release, Interpol is set to embark on an extensive North American tour starting in late July, promising an engaging live experience for their audience.

This new chapter for Interpol, highlighted by a new label, a fresh album, and an upcoming tour, reflects their enduring commitment to musical innovation. The inclusion of Kessler's vocals and the collaborative production effort signal a dynamic phase in the band's artistic journey, poised to captivate both long-time devotees and new listeners alike.
