Acer Unveils New Professional Monitors for Creatives

Acer has launched a new series of ProDesigner monitors, specifically engineered to meet the demanding requirements of photographers and video editors. This collection features three distinct models: the premium PE320QXT 6K touchscreen monitor, the high-refresh-rate PE270K 4K display, and the compact, portable PE160W OLED panel. Each display boasts impressive technical specifications, including outstanding color fidelity and a range of functionalities designed to enhance creative workflows, offering a compelling blend of performance and value for professionals.
The flagship model in Acer's new lineup is the ProDesigner PE320QXT, a 31.5-inch 6K Quantum-Dot IPS display. Operating at a resolution of 6016 x 3384 and a 60 Hz refresh rate, this monitor, despite not being the largest or fastest on the market, delivers a robust set of features at a competitive price of $1,499. It achieves a peak brightness of 600 nits, earning it HDR600 certification, and boasts exceptional color accuracy with Calman verification, ensuring a Delta E<1 and 99% coverage of both Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. Adding to its versatility, the PE320QXT is a 10-point touchscreen, compatible with MPP 2.0 tilt-enabled stylus pens, allowing for intuitive pen or finger-based photo editing. The integrated Acer Creator Hub further allows users to customize color spaces, while an 8-megapixel webcam and built-in speakers round out its feature set. Connectivity options include a headphone jack, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
For professionals prioritizing speed, Acer offers the ProDesigner PE270K, a 27-inch 4K monitor. Priced at $450, this display provides a 4K UHD image with refresh rates up to 144Hz and a rapid one-millisecond response time. It maintains excellent color accuracy, achieving 99% Adobe RGB coverage, though its DCI-P3 gamut coverage is slightly lower at 96%. While not a dedicated HDR panel, it carries HDR400 certification, offering a maximum brightness of 400 nits. Like its higher-end counterpart, the PE270K is Calman-verified, guaranteeing a Delta E<1 accuracy. These two monitors are designed to cater to different professional needs, with the PE320QXT excelling in high-resolution touch-enabled work and the PE270K providing a faster experience ideal for motion graphics and video editing.
Completing the new collection is the Acer ProDesigner PE160W, a portable 16-inch WUXGA OLED panel. Designed for creative professionals on the go, this display offers a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution. It delivers a Delta E<2 color accuracy and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut, making it suitable for editing while traveling. With a peak brightness of 300 nits, its performance in extremely bright outdoor conditions might be limited. The PE160W includes an HDMI 1.4 port and a pair of USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports for connectivity. All three new ProDesigner monitors are exclusively available for preorder through B&H in the United States. The PE270K is scheduled to ship on June 1, the PE320QXT on June 8, and the portable PE160W on June 22, with broader global availability to follow.
In summary, Acer's latest ProDesigner monitors deliver advanced visual solutions for creative professionals. The range, from the high-resolution touchscreen PE320QXT to the speedy PE270K and the portable PE160W, addresses various workflow demands. These displays emphasize exceptional color precision and innovative features, solidifying Acer's commitment to supporting high-quality digital content creation.
