A new exhibition in Seoul, 'Donald Judd: Furniture,' showcases the American artist's lesser-known but equally significant furniture designs. Curated by his son, Flavin Judd, the exhibition features 38 pieces, drawings, and prints, highlighting Judd's philosophical approach to everyday objects and his continuous investigation into proportion and structure. This marks the first dedicated furniture exhibition of Judd's work in South Korea, offering a unique perspective on his artistic journey.
As global temperatures rise, the demand for cooling intensifies, exacerbating energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Henning Larsen, in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania and AIL Research, has developed KlimaKover, a modular, solar-powered cooling shelter designed to offer an eco-friendly alternative to traditional air conditioning. This innovative solution, utilizing radiant cooling technology, provides accessible thermal comfort in public spaces, aiming to mitigate the environmental impact of rising heat.
