Artissima Unveils Extensive Exhibitor List for 33rd Edition in Turin

Artissima, the esteemed contemporary art exposition, is gearing up for its 33rd iteration this autumn, promising a rich showcase of global artistic expression. This year's event will feature an impressive lineup of 180 galleries hailing from 35 nations, all converging at Turin's iconic Oval, a former Olympic venue that has become synonymous with the fair since 2010. The continued leadership of Director Luigi Fassi, now in his fifth consecutive year, underscores a consistent vision for fostering diverse and engaging art experiences. The fair's strategic segmentation into various thematic areas, including sections dedicated to emerging talents, experimental dialogues, art editions, and historical perspectives, highlights its commitment to a comprehensive and dynamic presentation of contemporary art.

The upcoming edition of Artissima, under the seasoned direction of Luigi Fassi, is poised to build upon its legacy of promoting artistic innovation and cultural exchange. Fassi, in his fifth year at the helm, has meticulously curated an expanded roster of participants, exceeding last year's count of 176 galleries. This growth reflects the fair's enduring appeal and its pivotal role in the international art calendar. The Oval, originally an Olympic speed skating facility, once again provides the grand setting for this major event, transforming its vast space into a vibrant marketplace and exhibition platform for contemporary art.

A key aspect of Artissima's distinctive character lies in its thoughtfully structured sections, each designed to offer a unique lens through which to explore contemporary art. The 'New Entries' section, for instance, specifically spotlights 17 emerging galleries, offering them a crucial platform alongside 33 other first-time participants. 'Monologue/Dialogue' fosters experimental presentations from galleries featuring one or two artists, encouraging deeper engagement with individual artistic practices. 'Art Editions' provides a dedicated space for non-profit organizations to showcase prints and multiples, emphasizing accessibility and reproducibility in art. Further enriching the fair are 'Present Future' and 'Back to the Future,' which respectively present single-artist showcases for rising stars and pioneers of contemporary art, creating a compelling dialogue between different generations of artists. Finally, 'Disegni' offers monographic booths dedicated exclusively to the art of drawing, underscoring the enduring significance of this fundamental artistic medium.

The fair also plays a significant role in fostering new artistic relationships and facilitating connections within the global art community. By bringing together a diverse array of galleries and artists, Artissima serves as a crucial hub for discovery, networking, and commerce. The detailed categorization of exhibitors ensures that visitors can navigate the expansive offerings with clarity, allowing for focused exploration of specific artistic trends, regional strengths, and historical contexts. This comprehensive approach reinforces Artissima's position as a forward-thinking and influential event in the contemporary art world.

Artissima's forthcoming 33rd edition promises an enriching and expansive journey through the world of contemporary art, bringing together a broad international contingent of galleries and artists. With its diverse thematic sections and commitment to showcasing both established and emerging talents, the fair continues to be a vital platform for artistic innovation and cultural dialogue in Turin.
