Carly Rae Jepsen Unveils New Single "On Wires" and Announces Double Album "Day and Night"

Carly Rae Jepsen has released her latest single, "On Wires," giving fans a first listen to her ambitious sound from the upcoming double album, "Day and Night." The Canadian pop artist has been busy, also making headlines for her recent marriage and her role as a co-writer for a stage musical adaptation.

Pop Sensation Carly Rae Jepsen Drops New Single and Announces Expansive Double Album

On June 26, 2026, Carly Rae Jepsen delighted fans with her new single, "On Wires," a powerful track offering a glimpse into her forthcoming double album, "Day and Night." This latest release showcases a more ambitious side of Jepsen's musical artistry, opening with distinct staccato piano chords before bursting into a grand, arena-rock chorus that declares enduring love. The song is a collaborative effort, produced by Kyle Shearer and co-written by Jepsen, Shearer, and Nate Cyphert.

The accompanying music video for "On Wires," directed by Caio Viera, features Jepsen performing both within a concert hall and through city streets, capturing her dynamic stage presence. Notably, the video was filmed when Jepsen was six months pregnant, a detail that adds a personal touch to the visual narrative, as she welcomed her first child in March 2026.

Her highly anticipated eighth studio album, "Day and Night," is scheduled to debut on September 18, courtesy of Interscope Records. This expansive project follows her 2023 B-sides collection, "The Loveliest Time." The double album will feature 24 tracks, with each disc structured around the 'Day' and 'Night' themes. Jepsen worked with a close-knit group of collaborators, including Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, and Cole M.G.N., whom she married last year. While the full tracklist remains under wraps, teasers on her Instagram suggest potential song titles like "Ruby" and "Wild Child." Fans can also look forward to Jepsen's first live performance of 2026 at New York City's All Things Go Festival on September 27, where she is set to deliver a special sunset set.

Jepsen's journey continues to evolve, not just in music but also in other artistic endeavors. Last summer, while celebrating the tenth anniversary of her acclaimed album "Emotion," she was announced as a co-writer for the stage musical adaptation of "10 Things I Hate About You," alongside Lena Dunham, who is co-writing the book.
