The living area showcases a Todeschini kitchen with Giardino-tinted oak veneer, flowing seamlessly into a custom sideboard designed to house a record player and a cherished vinyl collection, all topped with elegant Da Vinci quartzite. The apartment's name, 'Semibreve Studio,' evokes the longest note in musical notation, reflecting a design philosophy centered on sustained tranquility and thoughtful engagement. This ethos is further embodied by an unconventional layout where visitors first encounter private zones, such as the bedroom and study, before transitioning into the more expansive living and kitchen areas, a deliberate inversion of typical residential flow to foster deeper contemplation.
At the heart of the design stands a striking burgundy cylinder, clad in rich red ceramic tiles from Turkish manufacturer Keramika. The apartment thoughtfully preserves the building's original timber parquet floors and beamed ceilings, complementing these historical features with contemporary, organically shaped furniture, including Nildo José's 'Amana' modular sofa. A curated selection of Brazilian art and design pieces, predominantly by women creators such as Lina Bo Bardi, Cristiana Bertolucci, and artists Maria Bonomi and Jandyra Waters, further enriches the space.
