Dinner Party Announces Debut Full-Length Album 'Watchu Bringing?'

The esteemed jazz and R&B collective, Dinner Party, comprising the talents of Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder, has officially unveiled details regarding their first full-length album. Titled "Watchu Bringing?", the highly anticipated record is scheduled for release on August 7 under the Empire label. Fans can get a first taste of the album with its lead single, "If It Ain’t Broke (Love Wins)," which is slated for release this coming Friday, July 10. The album's visual identity, a striking cover art piece, was skillfully crafted by Amani Washington, the sister of band member Kamasi Washington, who has previously contributed her artistic vision to the group's earlier works and Kamasi's solo endeavors.

This forthcoming album marks a significant milestone as the third official undertaking from the Dinner Party ensemble. It follows their critically acclaimed self-titled debut EP in 2020 and its subsequent release, "Enigmatic Society," in 2023. The new album promises to further explore their distinctive fusion of jazz and R&B, offering listeners a fresh collection of tracks including "Stop Being Late," "Stargazing," "Breakfast at Sharkey's," "I Wonder," "Just My Type," "I'm Yours," "Mutual Respect," and "Peace of Mind."

The announcement of "Watchu Bringing?" not only signifies a new chapter for Dinner Party but also reinforces the collaborative spirit and individual brilliance of its members. Their ability to intertwine complex musical narratives with accessible R&B grooves has cemented their position as innovators in contemporary music. This album is poised to be a vibrant addition to their discography, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in their unique soundscape and the rich tapestry of their collective artistry.
