Falcam Unveils TagBatt: Smart Camera Batteries with Apple Find My and USB-C Charging

Falcam has introduced its innovative TagBatt series, a new line of camera batteries that aims to revolutionize how photographers manage their power sources. These batteries combine a substantial 2,600 mAh capacity with the convenience of direct USB-C charging and the security of Apple’s Find My network integration. This dual functionality addresses common pain points for photographers: misplacing batteries and managing multiple charging accessories.

Details on Falcam's New Smart Battery Lineup

Falcam recently launched the TagBatt series, a breakthrough in camera battery technology, available for Sony NP-FZ100 and Canon LP-E6 camera systems, priced at $70 each. These batteries boast a 2,600 milliamp-hour capacity and 17.43 watt-hours, offering photographers dependable power. The unique selling point of the TagBatt batteries is their direct compatibility with Apple's Find My technology, which allows users to track their batteries via the Find My app on their iOS devices. This feature is particularly useful for locating lost batteries and even cameras with a TagBatt installed, offering notifications if a battery is left behind and an audible tone for nearby searches. Furthermore, the built-in USB-C port enables convenient charging without the need for traditional external chargers, though they remain compatible with existing charging solutions. Falcam ensures accurate battery-level reporting to cameras, avoiding the warning messages often associated with third-party batteries. The company has also announced plans to expand the TagBatt lineup to include versions for Fujifilm's NP-W235 and Nikon's EN-EL15 batteries, broadening accessibility for a wider range of camera users in the near future.

The integration of Apple Find My into camera batteries represents a significant step forward in equipment management for photographers. This innovation not only helps prevent the frustration of lost gear but also offers a more secure and discreet way to protect valuable camera equipment against theft, as the tracking device is not an obvious external attachment. The added convenience of USB-C charging simplifies workflows, reducing the clutter of specialized chargers and cables. This forward-thinking design could set a new standard for camera accessories, enhancing both the practicality and peace of mind for photographers worldwide.
