Fujifilm Revitalizes QuickSnap Disposable Camera Line with Two New Models

Fujifilm marks a significant milestone, the 40th anniversary of its iconic QuickSnap disposable camera line, by unveiling two distinct new versions. These additions aim to rejuvenate the experience of analogue photography for a new generation while honoring the series' enduring legacy.

The newly introduced QuickSnap Black and White camera arrives pre-loaded with a 27-exposure roll of ISO 400 black-and-white film, offering a classic aesthetic. Much like its color counterpart, which traditionally uses Kodak X-Tra ISO 400 color film, this monochrome variant features a fixed 32mm f/10 plastic lens, a shutter speed of 1/140s, and an integrated flash effective for subjects within a one to three-meter range. Complementing this, the QuickSnap Active replaces its predecessor as the new waterproof option. Designed for rugged outdoor pursuits, it boasts a protective casing and a wrist strap for secure handling. This model comes with ISO 800 color negative film and is waterproof down to 35 feet, making it ideal for adventurous photography, though it notably omits a built-in flash.

Bing Liem, Division President of Imaging at Fujifilm North America Corporation, emphasized the unique appeal of QuickSnap cameras in today's digital landscape. He stated that these single-use devices encourage a more deliberate approach to photography, distinguishing themselves from the constant distractions of smartphones. The new models, particularly the Black and White and the durable Active, further enhance this intentionality, providing users with artistic options and robust capabilities for capturing authentic, unedited moments. Both the QuickSnap Black and White and QuickSnap Active are slated for release in early September, priced at approximately $22.90 and $24.75 respectively in the U.S. market, with slightly different pricing in Canada.

In an age saturated with transient digital imagery, the resurgence of Fujifilm's QuickSnap series serves as a powerful reminder of the artistic and mindful act of photography. These new offerings encourage individuals to slow down, appreciate the moment, and create tangible memories that stand apart from the fleeting nature of digital scrolls. It's a call to embrace authenticity and the simple joy of capturing life's experiences, one frame at a time.
