Honor Magic V6: A Foldable Smartphone with Industry-Leading Battery and Apple Connectivity

Honor has unveiled its latest innovation, the Magic V6, a foldable smartphone poised to redefine the market with its groundbreaking features. This new device distinguishes itself by incorporating the largest battery ever seen in a foldable phone, alongside impressive durability enhancements and seamless integration capabilities with Apple's ecosystem. The Magic V6 aims to bridge the gap between traditional smartphones and foldable technology, offering a refined user experience that prioritizes both power and convenience.

A significant highlight of the Honor Magic V6 is its remarkably slim profile, challenging conventional smartphone designs. When folded, the white variant measures a mere 8.75mm, while other color options like black, red, and gold are only slightly thicker at 9mm. This sleek design, coupled with a weight of just 219 grams for the white model, positions the Magic V6 to offer a tactile experience akin to that of a standard, non-foldable device. The engineering behind this svelteness is further underscored by a hinge boasting an exceptional tensile strength of 2,800 MPa, ensuring both durability and a premium feel.

The imaging capabilities of the Magic V6 are spearheaded by Honor's AI Falcon camera system, featuring a sophisticated triple-camera setup. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel unit with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization, designed for exceptional light sensitivity. Complementing this is a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with a periscope design, offering 3x optical zoom and 6.5-stop image stabilization, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. While the camera hardware largely mirrors its predecessor, the Magic V5, Honor has focused on significant software enhancements. These include AI Color Engine, Magic Color 2.0, and an AI Image to Video 2.0 tool that empowers users to generate short videos from still images using text prompts, leveraging generative AI for cinematic output.

Display technology and robust construction are central to the Magic V6's appeal. It boasts a 6.52-inch outer display and a larger 7.95-inch inner foldable panel, both featuring adaptive refresh rates from 1-120Hz. The screens achieve impressive peak brightness levels of 6,000 nits for the outer display and 5,000 nits for the inner, with an ultra-low reflectivity rate of 1.5%. Both panels also incorporate 4320Hz PWM dimming to minimize eye strain. For enhanced durability, the inner screen utilizes UTG flexible glass, while the outer display is protected by Honor's Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield. The device also offers IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, setting a new benchmark for ruggedness in the foldable segment.

Powering the Magic V6 is an industry-leading 6660mAh silicon-carbon battery, a substantial increase compared to other foldables, including the Oppo Find N6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This massive battery supports rapid charging, with 80W wired and 66W wireless capabilities, along with reverse wireless charging. Under the hood, the device is driven by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, ensuring fluid performance, even for demanding tasks like 120 FPS gaming on its expansive inner display.

The software experience on the Magic V6 is powered by MagicOS 10, which integrates a suite of AI-driven features for managing settings, organizing photos, and streamlining workflows. Innovative multitasking features like Fast Flex allow for instant split-screen activation through the phone's physical folding motion, while the PC-level Multi-Flex mode replicates an ultrawide monitor setup across three simultaneous applications. A standout feature is the V6's native compatibility with Apple devices, facilitating effortless file transfers and notification mirroring via Honor Share, and extending to dual-screen Mac workflows without requiring additional software. The inclusion of Google Gemini further enhances its AI capabilities for text, voice, and image queries, with a complimentary three-month trial of Google AI Pro providing access to advanced features such as Veo 3.1-powered video generation and the Nano Banana Pro image generation tool.

The Honor Magic V6 is set to roll out in waves, commencing with its launch in Malaysia, where it will be available for a starting price of RM7,699 (approximately $1,918 USD). Pre-orders are slated from June 4-11, 2026, with accessory bundles and protection plans, including a two-year quality assurance and one-year crack protection. Following its debut in Malaysia, the device will gradually become available in various markets, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions throughout June, offering consumers a cutting-edge foldable experience.
