Solmé Boutique: A Fusion of Understated Elegance and Adaptive Design in Poznań

When designing Solmé, a new fashion destination in Poznań, Poland, the Raw07 team aimed to create an environment where the clothing, rather than extravagant decor, took center stage. "Instead of relying on obvious luxury or bold visual statements, the collections are characterized by subtle details and an effortless sense of sophistication," explains Dominik Pierzchlewicz, Raw07 founder and architect. "Our goal was for the interior to echo these qualities."

The compact 861-square-foot store features a flexible and minimalist layout that encourages shoppers to linger and discover their perfect ensemble. The main entrance serves as a backdrop for curated fashion displays, while a secondary entrance leads to the fitting rooms, ingeniously concealing essential amenities and equipment.

The display elements are crafted from aluminum, offering an industrial aesthetic and allowing staff to easily rearrange them as new collections arrive. Custom stainless steel furniture, left untreated to preserve its natural character, is not only visually striking but also fully recyclable. These versatile pieces can be combined and arranged in countless ways to accommodate changing spatial needs.

The boutique features a captivating interplay of textures, where gleaming metal surfaces contrast with the raw finish of plasterboard. Softness is introduced through delicate ribbons, elegant curtains, and fabric-wrapped hanging rails. This deliberate simplification of finishes not only lends a contemporary feel but also ensures minimal waste during any future refurbishments.

The understated color palette of the boutique is thoughtfully derived from the natural hues of the materials used. Pink-toned gypsum boards impart a gentle warmth, while translucent green-blue acrylic panels reflect light, adding an ethereal touch. A variety of tactile elements, combined with etched mirrors on the walls, evoke a dream-like ambiance, striking a perfect balance between raw and refined aesthetics, inviting visitors to engage with the space.

This innovative design, with its focus on modularity and reusable components, challenges conventional retail models that often prioritize fleeting trends over enduring style. "Solmé presents an alternative vision for retail design," Pierzchlewicz states. "It offers an adaptable environment that is open to evolution and reinterpretation, changing harmoniously with the fashion lines it showcases."
