Stolen Picasso Etching Recovered After Eight Years

A valuable etching by the renowned artist Pablo Picasso, identified as 'Torero' and part of a limited edition, has been successfully retrieved by Milwaukee police after it was stolen from DeLind Art Appraisals in 2018. This significant artwork, an aquatint printed on paper, was initially valued at approximately $35,000 to $50,000 when it vanished from the gallery without a trace.

The return of the artwork brought immense relief and surprise to Bill DeLind, the owner of the appraisal business, who had believed he would never see the piece again. Despite a previous $10,000 reward for information that expired in 2019, the etching reappeared in excellent condition, still housed in its original frame with the protective glass intact and a sticker from DeLind's shop. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the individual who returned the artwork, and efforts are currently underway to reunite the etching with its rightful owner.
