Voigtlander Unveils New Lenses for Fujifilm X-Mount Enthusiasts

Voigtlander, an optical company under the umbrella of Cosina, continues to expand its impressive array of lenses. Following the successful introductions of models like the lightweight 40mm f2 Septon and the innovative Portrait Heliar 75mm f1.8, the manufacturer is now enriching the options available to Fujifilm X-mount camera owners with two distinct prime lenses. These new offerings aim to provide unique photographic possibilities for both portrait and street photographers.

These newly announced silver-finish lenses are the Nokton 23mm f1.2 and the 35mm f1.2. They are crafted for photographers who value a meticulous manual focus experience, encouraging a thoughtful and unhurried photographic process. Such lenses are known to cultivate a more deliberate approach to photography, where careful consideration of every element, from composition to focus, becomes paramount. The 23mm f1.2 features 10 elements in 6 groups, including aspherical and abnormal dispersion glass, weighing 214g with a price tag of ¥93,000. The 35mm f1.2, with 8 elements in 6 groups using a double Gaussian design, weighs 196g and costs ¥81,000. While competing with Fujifilm's own 23mm f1.4 R WR and older 35mm f1.4/f2 models, Voigtlander's new lenses offer a compact, manual alternative at competitive prices against various third-party options.
