Abbey Road Institute Expands with New Los Angeles Campus Led by Grammy-Winning Producer Rafa Sardina

The esteemed Abbey Road Institute, a global leader in professional music production education and an offshoot of the legendary London recording studios, is broadening its reach with the establishment of a new campus in Los Angeles later this year. This strategic expansion underscores the institute's commitment to nurturing future talent in active studio environments, a philosophy that has guided its operations since its inception.

At the helm of this new Los Angeles venture will be the acclaimed, multi-Grammy-winning producer and engineer, Rafa Sardina. Sardina brings an impressive and eclectic resume, having collaborated with a diverse roster of musical luminaries such as D'Angelo, Lady Gaga, Plácido Domingo, and Stevie Wonder. His extensive experience and profound understanding of music production are expected to provide invaluable mentorship to aspiring professionals. The L.A. campus is slated to commence operations on October 26th and will be nestled within the historic Sunset Gower Studios complex in Hollywood.

Sunset Gower Studios is widely recognized for its rich cinematic history as a premier film production hub. However, it also hosts United Recording, an equally illustrious studio complex that has welcomed iconic artists like Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Green Day, and Radiohead. A distinctive feature of the Abbey Road Institute Los Angeles will be its students' unparalleled access to the four studios housed within United Recording, enabling practical learning and immersive experiences during designated classes and activities.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Sardina articulated that the launch of Abbey Road Institute Los Angeles represents the fulfillment of a long-cherished aspiration. He conveyed his eagerness to impart the invaluable professional insights gleaned from his own career and those of his esteemed musical colleagues to a new generation of audio engineers, producers, and music industry practitioners. Sardina eagerly anticipates welcoming the inaugural class of students and witnessing the commencement of their promising professional journeys.

Since its founding in 2015, the Abbey Road Institute has championed a pedagogical approach focused on providing aspiring producers and engineers with opportunities to refine their skills within dynamic, real-world studio settings. Beyond its London flagship, the institute has successfully established campuses in major global cities, including Paris, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, and Sydney. The upcoming Los Angeles campus will mark its second footprint in the United States, following the successful opening of its Miami branch in 2020, further solidifying its global presence and influence in music education.

This initiative represents a significant milestone for the Abbey Road Institute, extending its unique educational model to one of the world's most vibrant music industry centers. By leveraging the expertise of industry veterans like Rafa Sardina and offering direct engagement with professional recording facilities, the institute is poised to shape the next generation of music production talent, equipping them with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving industry.
