DIIV Unveils New Album 'ZIRP!' Produced by A. G. Cook, Announce North American and International Tour Dates
Indie rock band DIIV has officially unveiled details for their new album, “ZIRP!”, following initial cryptic announcements. This eagerly awaited record is slated for an October 30th release through Fantasy Recordings and prominently features the lead single, “The Fountain,” which is now available for listeners.

The acclaimed band DIIV has revealed their new album, “ZIRP!”, produced by the innovative A. G. Cook. Following a unique announcement campaign last week, including a hotline and business card dissemination, the album is set to debut on October 30th via Fantasy Recordings. The first single, “The Fountain,” has been released, offering a glimpse into the album's sound.
A. G. Cook shared insights into the creative process, emphasizing his dedication to capturing the band’s live essence. He explained, “I became quite captivated by their live performances and made it a priority to record the drums live, even before many songs were fully developed. We invested considerable time crafting intricate guitar parts using specific pedals, and in contrast, minimized computer-based work—at least by my usual standards. Through this iterative process, ‘ZIRP!’ materialized as a concept, evolving into a sort of utopian and dystopian declaration. For me, it became an exciting pathway to propel the band into uncharted sonic territory.”
This new release follows DIIV’s previous album, “Frog in Boiling Water,” which was launched earlier in 2024. To commemorate the arrival of “ZIRP!”, DIIV is embarking on an extensive tour across North America and beyond. Key stops include performances in dynamic cities such as Brooklyn, New York; Atlanta, Georgia; and Los Angeles, California. The tour will commence with a special international engagement at Balaclava Fest in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving to North American venues. Notably, several dates will feature collaborations with other prominent acts, with Interpol joining them for multiple shows and Basement appearing at the Los Angeles event.
The album “ZIRP!” comprises eleven tracks: 01 The Fountain, 02 Kid, 03 When The Glow Came For Us, 04 Dare Me, 05 The Crash, 06 Trillions, 07 Us Against You, 08 Evangelizer, 09 Underground, 10 My Star, and 11 Idiot In The Sky.
