ProGrade Digital's New CFexpress Cards Revolutionize Demanding Photography and Videography

Memory cards are essential tools for every photographer, from beginners to seasoned professionals, as they can significantly influence the success of a photography project. ProGrade Digital, a prominent innovator in memory card, card reader, and workflow software development for visual artists, has recently unveiled a new generation of cards designed to empower content creators.

ProGrade Digital Unveils Advanced CFexpress Cards for Elite Visual Professionals

In a significant advancement for the photography and videography sectors, ProGrade Digital has officially introduced its latest CFexpress 4.0 Type A Iridium memory cards, which boast dual VPG certification. These cutting-edge cards are available in two storage capacities: 512GB and 1TB. Leveraging ProGrade's fourth-generation technology, which includes 480GB and 960GB iterations, these new offerings utilize a PCIe Gen 4 interconnect paired with an NVMe 1.4c controller interface, ensuring unparalleled performance. Designed primarily for professional filmmakers and photographers who demand the highest resolution imaging, these cards set a new standard for data transfer and reliability.

Wes Brewer, CEO and founder of ProGrade Digital, articulated the forward-thinking design philosophy behind these products in a recent press statement. He emphasized that while cameras capable of fully supporting both VPG Profiles 4 and 5 are still emerging, the new cards are proactively built to meet these future specifications. This foresight guarantees complete compatibility with current camera systems while providing the necessary performance and flexibility for the next wave of imaging technology. The cards feature a maximum read speed of up to 1800MB/s, a burst write speed of up to 1700MB/s, and a sustained write speed of 1500MB/s, with a minimum sustained write speed of 800MB/s (VPG800). Each card is X-ray proof and shock-proof, backed by a 3-year warranty, and priced at $569.99 for the 512GB model and $949.99 for the 1TB model.

Furthermore, the ProGrade Type A series cards are fully compliant with the CompactFlash Association 4.0 specification and maintain backward compatibility with the 2.0 specification. They are also engineered to function seamlessly with VPG Profile 4 (VPG200 and VPG400) and Profile 5 (VPG 800), and incorporate an NVMe host interface with a PCIe Gen4 X1 interconnect. A crucial feature of these cards is their integrated thermal throttling mechanism, which safeguards the card from potential overheating issues during intense usage. For quality control and tracking, each card is marked with a laser-etched serial number. These robust memory solutions are designed to operate efficiently across a wide temperature range, from -10°C to 70°C (14°F to 158°F).

Drawing on previous experiences with ProGrade's products, the company's track record for delivering high-performance and reliable memory solutions remains strong. Professionals requiring robust and high-speed memory cards will find these new CFexpress offerings to be an invaluable investment for their demanding workflows.

This launch underscores ProGrade Digital's commitment to pushing the boundaries of memory card technology, anticipating the needs of evolving camera systems and providing professionals with the tools necessary to excel in an increasingly high-resolution world.
