SmallRig and Potato Jet Launch Innovative Tribex Pro Monopod

SmallRig, in collaboration with Potato Jet, has launched the innovative Tribex Pro Monopod. This new accessory integrates the acclaimed single-handle clutch mechanism from the Tribex Tripod, adapting it for both photography and videography. Designed to enhance the fluidity and efficiency of creative work, the monopod promises to be a game-changer for professionals in the field.

SmallRig and Potato Jet's Tribex Pro Monopod: A Detailed Overview

The latest innovation from SmallRig, developed in partnership with Potato Jet, is the Tribex Pro Monopod, which was officially unveiled on August 20, 2026. This groundbreaking monopod incorporates the "new-generation X-Clutch hydraulic technology," a system first introduced in the Tribex Tripod. This technology enables users to effortlessly extend and secure all leg sections simultaneously with a single handle, ensuring rapid, fluid, and whisper-quiet height adjustments. Such precision is particularly advantageous for cinematographers who need to modify height swiftly while actively filming.

The Tribex Pro Monopod is available in two distinct configurations: a video-centric model and a photography-oriented variant. The video version features a three-pronged foot and offers compatibility with various video pan-tilt heads. It comes standard with a compact fluid head, engineered by SmallRig to deliver exceptionally smooth panning motions thanks to its advanced damping system. This fluid head is designed to manage cameras and other equipment weighing up to four kilograms (8.8 pounds) with precise counterbalance, while its maximum load capacity extends to six kilograms (13.2 pounds). A notable addition is the newly designed snap-on quick-release plate mount, which is compatible with DJI RS series quick release plates and 501PL quick release plates, facilitating seamless transitions between gimbal and tripod setups.

The photo version of the monopod provides options for either the three-pronged foot or a single-point foot, coupled with a more conventional photo tripod ball head. Both versions boast a robust three-section design, capable of supporting an impressive maximum load of 25 kilograms (55.1 pounds) despite weighing only 2.6 kilograms (5.72 pounds). The operational height ranges from 90 to 170 centimeters (35.4 to 66.9 inches) and can be compacted to a minimum length of 89 centimeters (35 inches) for convenient transport.

For enhanced versatility, SmallRig has equipped the monopod with 1/4"-20 threaded holes, allowing for easy attachment of various accessories. The silicone foot pads conceal hidden spiked feet, providing superior grip and stability across diverse terrains. The Tribex Pro Monopod is offered in four distinct packages: the Barebone Edition (or Basic Edition), priced at $200, includes only the monopod body; the Standard Edition, at $360, adds a folding tripod base and is ideal for users with existing DJI RS series gimbals or other heads. The Photo Kit and Video Kit are both priced at $430, with the former including a ball head and the latter a fluid head. All versions are available for purchase starting today and are backed by a four-year warranty, reflecting SmallRig's commitment to durability and customer satisfaction.

The introduction of the Tribex Pro Monopod represents a significant stride in camera support technology. Its advanced X-Clutch hydraulic system and versatile configurations address critical needs for both photographers and videographers, offering a blend of speed, stability, and adaptability that can truly elevate the quality of content creation. The seamless integration of functionality and robust design suggests a promising future for on-the-go professionals seeking reliable and efficient gear. This collaboration between SmallRig and Potato Jet underscores a shared vision for innovation in the photography and filmmaking industries, delivering tools that empower creators to push the boundaries of their craft.
