Capture One Announces Upcoming 6% Price Increase Across All Products

Capture One has declared an impending price adjustment, raising costs by 6% across its comprehensive range of products. This increase will apply to all versions, including Pro, All-in-One, and Studio, impacting both recurring monthly and annual subscriptions, as well as one-time perpetual license purchases. The company officially communicated these changes on its support portal, specifying that the new pricing structure will be implemented starting June 2nd.
Existing customers will see these updated prices reflected on their accounts for any renewal dates occurring on or after July 6th. To ensure transparency, monthly subscribers will be alerted via email seven and three days before their renewal, while annual subscribers will receive notifications 30, seven, and three days prior to their renewal date. Furthermore, monthly subscribers have the option to convert to an annual plan before June 2nd to secure the current, lower annual rate. For example, the Pro tier's monthly cost will rise from $17 to approximately $18, an additional $12 annually. The current $26 monthly Pro subscription will see an increase of over $1.50. The All-in-One package, which offers expanded features like iPad and iPhone integration, cloud sharing, and collaborative tools, will similarly experience an increase from $23.25 monthly (annual billing) to nearly $25, and from $36 monthly (month-to-month) to over $38. The Studio tier, tailored for professional high-volume studios, will also face a substantial increase, with annual subscribers paying an additional $33 and monthly users an extra $40 over a year.
Capture One attributes these price adjustments to the escalating costs of development and maintenance, emphasizing its commitment to continuous investment in the platform and customer support to foster exceptional creative output. This isn't the first time Capture One has raised its prices, mirroring a broader trend of increasing costs within the creative software sector and the photography industry as a whole, driven by economic instability and global inflationary pressures. While price increases are never welcome, users are being given ample notice to evaluate their options and determine the best course of action for their subscription needs, whether continuing with Capture One or exploring alternative software solutions.
In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, companies like Capture One must balance innovation with financial sustainability. While price adjustments can be challenging for users, they often reflect a commitment to ongoing development, enhancing features, and providing robust support. This transparency and advance notice empower consumers to make informed decisions, ensuring they can continue to pursue their creative passions with the tools that best fit their needs and budgets.
