Pearl Jam Announces First Show Since Drummer Matt Cameron's Departure at Ohana Festival

The Ohana festival, celebrating its tenth anniversary in Dana Point, California, has revealed an exciting lineup that includes Pearl Jam's inaugural live appearance following the departure of drummer Matt Cameron a year prior. This three-day musical extravaganza, scheduled from September 25th to 27th, will showcase a diverse array of talent, featuring performances by Eddie Vedder & Friends, Tyler Childers, Alabama Shakes, Fontaines D.C., Pixies, Rilo Kiley, Billy Idol, Jon Batiste, and Maná. Early access tickets are currently available for members of the Ten Club, while general public presales will commence on May 14th.

Matt Cameron amicably ended his 27-year tenure with Pearl Jam in July 2025. In a heartfelt statement, he expressed profound gratitude to the band members—Jeff, Ed, Mike, and Stone—for the incredible journey filled with camaraderie, artistic expression, challenges, and laughter. He also extended his appreciation to the crew, staff, and fans globally, acknowledging the invaluable experiences shared and hinting at future endeavors.

The band's current drumming situation remains uncertain. Last month, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready indicated to an interviewer that a new drummer had not yet been selected, stating that the band was still in the process of discussing their next steps, emphasizing their deliberate approach to decision-making. It is currently unknown whether a new drummer has been hired, if a decision will be made by September, or if a temporary replacement will perform at the Ohana festival. In 2022, when Cameron was sidelined due to illness, original drummer Dave Krusen, multi-instrumentalist John Klinghoffer, and seasoned Seattle musician Richard Stuverud filled in.

Since its inception in 2016, Eddie Vedder has been the curator of the Ohana festival, shaping its distinct musical identity. Over the years, the festival has hosted an impressive roster of iconic artists, including Green Day, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others, consistently delivering memorable performances and fostering a vibrant musical community. This year's event continues the tradition of featuring both established acts and rising stars.

In addition to the main headliners, the festival's diverse lineup will also feature performances by acclaimed artists such as Bad Religion, Courtney Barnett, Sugar, The Format, Tom Odell, and Men I Trust, promising an eclectic musical experience for all attendees. This blend of genres and artists underscores Ohana's commitment to offering a rich and varied program.

The Ohana festival promises to be a significant event, marking Pearl Jam's return to the stage and celebrating a decade of music and community. With a carefully curated lineup and Eddie Vedder's continued vision, the festival is set to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans, highlighting both familiar favorites and exciting new acts in a picturesque setting.
